If you are an international student studying in Aberdeen, then Friends International Aberdeen is for you! We are a network of local volunteers who run events, trips, courses and hospitality all year round for international students in Aberdeen. For example:

* Cameo: a conversation and activity group for international ladies (their children are also welcome)
    - meets every Monday at 10:30 a.m. at The Mission on St Machar Drive

* International Bible Study: a Bible study for people of all faiths or even none to see what the Bible says and to practice English language skills in discussion groups
    - meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at The Mission

* International Café: an evening of food, English conversation, and activities with other international students
    - AU iCafé: meets on the last Thursday of every month at The Mission
    - RGU iCafé: keep watching this space for updates

* Friendship Link: matches interested students with local people and families
    - This is a great way to make friends with local people and families! Two or three students are usually linked with each family or individual and may be invited for a meal and an outing about two or three times in an academic year.

Also, keep an eye out for our international student Welcome Meals in September during Freshers' weeks. Come enjoy great free food and fellowship with other international students!

Friends International is a registered Christian charity. Our staff and coordinators are all Christians who love welcoming international students to the UK. The events we promote are for all international students, regardless of nationality or religious belief. Some of our events include opportunities to discover what Christians believe, and it's always clear in our publicity which events these are. We would love to see you at any of our events. Please check our Facebook page to discover what's on.

You can contact us at: bethany.marsh@friendsinternational.uk

However you join us, we look forward to meeting you!

Would you like to be invited into the home of one of our host families?

Friends International's hospitality scheme has been running for more than 20 years and for many international students, this has been the highlight of their stay in the UK.

Simply register your details and we will arrange for one of our hosts to contact you. You will then be able to arrange a suitable time with your host to go to their home for a meal and a chance to relax and socialise. If you want to bring up to 2 friends with you, just tell us their names when you register, and ask them to register too.

If you have any questions about this scheme, please don't hesitate to contact us.
